Using a lawn sweeper is a great way to keep your lawn free from falling leaves, twigs and other debris that tends to end up on the ground. The smaller push lawn sweepers are lightweight, very easy to manipulate and they provide you with some exercise at the same time as you are cleaning up your yard. A great alternative to raking, which can not only be time consuming but also quite hard work at times, they are very adept at picking up debris and depositing it in the catcher located behind the sweeper.
There are many reasons why a lawn sweeper makes life easier, especially when compared to raking a lawn by hand. No one would argue that raking is hard work and while it can provide excellent exercise all too often it can also result in sore backs and blistered hands. With the lawn sweeper you do not need to bend your back at all; you simply push it along in much the same manner as you would move a push-mower along. Nor does it exert friction on hands or cause blisters to form. Whereas other methods used to clear debris from a lawn can sometimes damage the grass, there will be no lawn damage when you use the sweeper. To the contrary, it will lift the grass and provide you with a clear, tidy lawn.
There are other benefits to using a lawn sweeper also. It can be used to sweep hard surfaces, such as driveways and patios and can even remove light layers of snow from a driveway. Another plus to collecting debris and fallen leaves is that it provides you with ready-made material so you can create leaf mould which can then be used to fertilize the rest of your garden. It really is a great little garden tool; no bending required, no raking required, no lawn damage and best of all no blisters! Plus you have the added benefits of a neat and tidy lawn and plenty of vegetation to start off your leaf mould.
