Many people are looking for a budget rice cooker while some of you demand a top of the range appliance. There are many places that have the Zojirushi NP-HBC10 for sale. This is one of the high end Zojirushi rice cookers. Today I shall discuss the features of this machine and show that it is an amazing rice cooker but may not be for everybody.

To begin with, Zojirushi are one of the main Japanese firms when it comes to quality rice cooking appliances. They and Tiger are the two companies with the best reputations. Although they are being chased by companies such as Sanyo, Hitachi, Toshiba, Panasonic and Mitsubishi.

The NP-HBC10 rice cooker is a 5 1/2 cup machine. Its big brother is the NP-HBC18 which is a 10 cup machine. There is not a 3 cup rice cooker in this range, the closest would be the NP-GBC05.

It has a host of different cooking setting and can make many different kinds of rice. Of note is the fact that is has a cycle to cook GABA brown rice. Not many machines have a specific setting for this type of rice.

The NP-HBC10 machine has Zojirushi’s Induction Heating System. This is a really cool technology. It uses a magnetic field which actually turns the cooking bowl into the heat source. This has a couple of advantages. Heat can be applied instantly when the cooker is turned on. Also since the inner cooking pot is actually the heat source you can be sure that your rice is going to be cooked evenly.

This is a top of the range rice cooker and therefore it is not cheap. It is suitable for those of you who have owned a rice cooker before and are looking to upgrade. The more you eat rice, the more a machine like the Zojirushi NP-HBC10 is worth buying.
